My Plate-11-2-11

2 cups of fruits should be eaten daily.
2.5 cups of varied vegetables should be eaten daily.
Make half of your grains whole grains.
Be careful not to drink to many sugary drinks such as soda or fruit juice high in sugar. Drink water.
Eat less and enjoy your food. Don't rush your meals.
Drink low fat or no fat milk instead of whole milk.
Watch the amount of sodium in your diet.
5.5 oz. of protein daily
3 cups of dairy
6 ounces (oz.) of grains daily
balance your calories, find out how many calories you need
make half your plate whole grains, dairy products, fruits and vegetables
Avoid oversized portions or "supersized portions"
eat less sugar fatty foods, and salt
compare the sodium lables in foods, look for no salt added or low sodium
