The ability to cause changes in matter. Energy
Energy can't be created or destroyed. It can be changed from one form of matter to another. Law of Conservation of Energy
Energy of motion. Kinetic energy
The energy an object has because of where it is or because of its condition. Potential energy
The energy that runs computers, television, radios, etc. It is produced by the movement of electrons. Electric energy
Kinds of matter that carry electrons more easily than others. Conductor
A material that doesn't carry electrons more easily such as rubber, plastic, or glass. Insulator
Any path along which electrons can flow. Electric circuit
When an object is magnetic while an electric current is running through it. Electromagnet
When colors bounce off a surface. Reflection
When a change in speed causes light rays to bend (when light travels through a window it slows down.) Refraction
The loudness of a sound. Volume
The direct transfer of heat between objects that touch. Conduction
Heat transfer as a result of the mixing of a liquid or a gas. Convection
The transfer of thermal energy by electromagnetic waves. Radiation
