QuestionAnswer
Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) is the most important biological molecule that provides chemical energy
Cellular Respiration is the catabolic pathway in which organic molecules are broken down to release energy for use by the cell.
Energy the ability to do work
Metabolism are all of the reactions in a cell
Photosynthesis is the anabolic pathway in which light energy from the Sun is converted to chemical energy for use but the cell.
Thermodynamics is the study of the flow and transformation of energy in the universe
Calvin Cycle the second phase of photosynthesis in which energy is stored in organic molecules such as glucose.
Granum stacks formed by the thylakoids
NADP+ the electron carrier that forms the energy-storage molecule NADPH
Pigment light absorbing colored molecules found in the thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts.
Rubisco an enzyme that converts the remaining ten G3P molecules into 5-carbon molecules called ribulose
Stroma the fluid -filled space that is outside the grana.
Thylakoid flattened saclike membranes that are arranged in stacks.
Aerobic metabolic processes require oxygen
Aerobic Respiration includes the Krebs cycle and electron transport and is an aerobic process
Anaerobic Process do not require oxygen
Fermentation occurs in the cytoplasm and regenerates the cell's supply of NAD+ while producing a small amount of ATP
Glycolysis the process by which glucose is broken down in the cytoplasm
Krebs Cycle is the series of reactions in which pyruvate is broken down into carbon dioxide

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
