Culture Region an area in which people have many shared culture traits
Culture Traits activities and behaviors that people take part in of a specific culture
Ethnic Groups a human population that shares common cultures or ancestries
Acculturation when an individual group that adopts some of the traits from another culture
Innovation new ideas that a culture accepts
Diffusion an idea or innovation that spreads from one person or group to another and is adopted
Globalization the process in which connections around the world increase and cultures become more alike
Traditionalism following long time practices and opposing many modern technologies and ideas
Fundamentalism describes any movement where people believe in strictly following certain established principles or teachings
Dialect a regional variety languages
Lingua Franca a language of trade and communication for the whole world
Ethnic Religions religions a a specific ethnic groups not generally having spread among other cultures
Animist Religions people who believe in the presence of spirits and focus on the forces of nature
Polytheism the belief in many gods: Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism
Monotheism the belief in one god: Christianity, Islam, Judaism
Universalizing Religions the attempt to expand a religion all over the world
Missionaries people who help spread their religion
Mosque Islamic houses of worship
Hajj Islamic journey to Mecca; must visit once
