Physical Properties The characteristics of a substance that can be observed or measured without changing the substance.
Chemical Properties Characteristics which cause specific behavior of substances during chemical changes
Strength Measure of the amount of pressure applied before the substance breaks
Hardness The measure of an objects ability to resist being scratched (used to identify minerals)
Flexibility The ability to bend under pressure
Conductors Materials that allow either heat or electricity to pass through them.
Conductivity The ability for a substance to be a conductor.
Mass The measure of the amount of matter in an object
Weight The measure of the gravitational force acting on an object. The more gravity the more an object weighs. The less the gravity the less the object weighs.
Balance A tool used to measure the mass of an object in grams (g)
Spring Scale A tool to measure force, such as the weight of an object in Newtons (N)
