PASS terms

percent A special ratio that compares a number to 100;per 100 or hundredths.
integer Whole numbers and their opposites
ratio A comparison of two numbers or measures using division
unit rate A rate with a denominator of 1
ordered pairs A pair of numbers that gives the coordinates of a point on a grid
vertex The point at which two line segments, lines, or rays meet to form an angle
line symmetry A line that divides a figure into two congruent halves that are mirror images of each other
rotational symmetry A figure that can be turned less than 360 degrees about a point and fit exactly on itself.
power of 10 A number with 10 as a base and a whole number exponent.
prime factorization A way to write a number as the product of prime numbers.
exponential form A way of writing a number using exponents.
order of operations Rules describing what sequence to use in evaluating expressions.PEMDAS
commutative property A rule of multiplication and addition that states the order of the numbers does not change the answer.
associative property A rule of multiplication and addition that states the grouping of the numbers does not change the answer.
distributive property When one of the factors of a product is written as a sum, multiplying each addend before adding does not cahnge the factor.
inverse operation An opposite operation that can be used to solve for the unknown.
