permeable a substance that liquids can flow through
impermeable a substance that liquids cannot flow through
water table the top of the region that is saturated, or completely filled with water
aquifier an underground layer of permeable rock or sediment that contains water
spring a flow of water from the ground at a place where the land dips into water
artesian well where water goes to the top because of pressure
