Topography variety of an area’s elevations & arrangement of landforms.
Isostasy the balance of the weights of rock, water, and ice, and the upward force of the mantle
Landform shapes and structures on the earth’s surface
Orogeny tectonic process that formed mountains
Mountain a natural elevation of the earth’s surface rising more or less to a summit
Hill a natural elevation of the earth’s surface, but less than other elevations
Elevation measurements above sea level
Actual Height the height of its summit above the lowest elevation of the base
Relief the difference in height between the highest and lowest elevation of the terrain
Mountain Range a series of mountain peaks in the same geographical area
Mountain System a group of ranges connected over a large area
Fold Mountain mountains that form from folded rock strata
Erosional Mountain residual mountains; mesas or buttes
Depositional Mountain formed by a buildup of sediments by wind or glaciers
