Edict | An official order or proclamation issued by a person in authority. |
Expound | Present and explain (a theory or idea) systematically and in Detail. |
Pestilential | Harmful or destructive to crops or livestock |
Pillage | Rob (a place) using violence, especially in wartime. |
Premonition | A strong feeling that something is about to happen, especially something unpleasant. |
Bestial | Of or like an animal or animals. Savagely cruel and depraved. |
Reprieve | A cancellation or postponement of a punishment. |
Crucible | a severe test; a trial |
Emaciated | Abnormally thin or weak, especially because of illness or a lack of food |
Incite | Urge or persuade (someone) to act in a violent or unlawful way. |
Embark | Begin (a course of action, especially one that is important or demanding). |
Encumbrance | A burden or impediment. |
Vigilant | Keeping careful watch for possible danger or difficulties |

Haggard | Looking exhausted and unwell, especially from fatigue, worry, or suffering. |

Hooligan | A violent young troublemaker, typically one of a gang. |
Cynical | Believing that people are motivated by self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity. |
Nocturnal | Done, occurring, or active at night. |
Livid | Furiously angry. |
Semblance | The outward appearance or apparent form of something, especially when the reality is different. |
Robust | Strong and healthy; vigorous. |
Apathy | Lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern. |
Compulsory | Required by law or a rule; obligatory. |
