What does inorganic mean when it comes to minerals? NOT formed from living things or the remains of living things.
Streak The color of a minerals powder.
Why is coal NOT considered a mineral? Because it's organic (made from living things).
Fracture The way a mineral looks when it breaks apart irregularly.
Cleavage A mineral's ability to split easily along flat surfaces.
Luster The way it reflects light from its surface.
Fredrich Moh A mineral expert who created the Mohs Hardness Scale.
Moh's Harndess Scale Ranks a minerals hardness. It ranks it from 1 - 10 and 1 being the softest and 10 being the hardest.
