| economy | a system for how goods and services are produced, distrbuted and consumed |
| culture | the beliefs customs, practices and behaviors of a particular nation or group of people |
| society | a group of individuals living as members of a community |
| cultural diffusion | the spread of cultural traits from one culture to another |
| government | a group of people who have the power to make and enforce laws for a country or area - government role is to keep order, provide services & protect the common good |
| justice | fairness or fair treatment |
| natural resource | useful materials that are found in the environment |
| politics | the art and practice of government |
| region | an area with at least one unifying human or physical feature such as climate, landforms, population, history, or religion |
| rule of law | the idea that all members of society, even the rich and powerful must obey the law |
| standard of living | level of comfort enjoyed by a person or society |
| technology | the tools and skills people use to meet there needs and wants |
| citizen | a legal member of a country |
| trade | the exchange of goods and services in a market/region |
