WATERSHED | Land that water flows across or through on its ways to a river or otheer body of water. |
WETLANDS | Transition zone beween dry land and bodies of water. |
TRIBUTARIES | Streams and rivers that supply larger bodies of water. |
ESTUARY | An area where fresh water and saltwater mix. |
BAY | An inlet that leads into the sea. |
MARSH | A low, wet grassland withno trees. |
SEDIMENT | Particles that collect on the bottom of a waterway. |
FLOODPLAIN | Area along river banks that form sediments deposited when a river overflows its banks. |
DELTA | Fan-shaped mass of material deposited at the mouth of a stream. |
CONSERVATION | Careful use of resources so they will last longer. |
RECYCLE | To reuse a resource. |
FENS | Peat-forming wetlands that receive nut rients from sources other than precipitation. |
