Siltstone gray
Sandstone very sandy
Shale made of plant and animal fossils
Granite black speckles
Obsidian Black and shiny
Rhyolite white
Basalt Carl(salt)'s cousin
Gabbro dark gray
Pumice very light to hold
Quartzite named after Quartz
Schist the c in its name is silent
Slate feels very smooth and has dark gray as its color
Anthracite looks like coal-don't get confused
Gneiss sounds like nice
Marble lots of things are made of this material
