Hypothesis an educated guess or prediction of the outcome of an investigation written as a statement
Procedure a series of actions conducted in a certain order or manner
Conclusion a statement telling the results of an investigation based on data and observations
Results outcomes of an investigation
Analyze to study the parts of something carefully
Data facts or information
Independent Variable the condition that you can change in an investigation
Dependent Variable what you measure in an investigation. It is affected by the independent variable
Quantitative properties that are measured with a numerical result (ex. 26 cm)
Qualitative properties that are observed and not measured with a numerical result (ex. color)
Control a condition or factor that is kept the same throughout an experiment
Materials all the supplies needed to conduct an investigation
Question the problem in an experimental investigation
