what was it like for the free women who once been slaves not fair because they can not vote and did not have the rights as men and to find there familys.
now that slaves were free what did thy have to do? find homes, Make money, help there families and share crop.
what was the freedman's bureau? what did thy do. it was to help African Americans and it gave them shelter food and education.
What was share cropping? former slaves would rent a conk of land and would take care of it and sell it to get money but they would have to pay for rent with the rent they would pay for the land and food.
what dose reconstruction mean. when did reconstruction start? it means to rebuild after the war. And started in 1865.
how was Andrew Jackson? what did he try to do. he was the new president and finished Lincoln's plan.
what were black codes? Who made them. laws that hold former black slaves. and the southern government.
what did congress do to try to stop the southern states from treating the former slaves poorly. send military troops
what two things did congress make he southern states do before they could reestablish there own governments. erased black codes and Jim pro laws. Give African Americans the right to vote.
explain the rights that the 13 14 15 amendments give. gave African Americans rights and freedom.13:abolish slavery 14:all men have citizen ship. 15:all men could vote.
