Biomes and Food Chains

What is a habitat? A place where an organism lives and that provides the things that an organism needs.
What is a biotic factor? The living parts of an ecosystem.
What is a abiotic factor? The nonliving parts of an ecosystem.
What is ecology? The study of how living things interact with each other and the environment.
What is biodiversity? The number of individuals in a specific area.
What is a producer? An organism that can create its own food.
What is a consumer? An organism that obtains its every by feeding on other organisms.
What is a food chain? A series of events in which one organism eats another and obtains energy.
What is a food web? Consists of overlapping food chains in an ecosystem.
What is an ecosystem? All living and nonliving things that interact in an area.
What is a biome? A group of ecosystems with similar climate and organisms.
What are the two climate conditions that determine an areas biome? Temperature and rainfall
