photosynthesis food making process in plants

roots underground foundation of a plant; they take in water for the rest of the plant
tropism a plant's response to conditions in the environment
stem part of a plant that joins the roots and the leaves
organ system groups of organs that work together
organ tissues that work together and form thes
vacuole a cell's storage area for important liquids (similar to the stomach of the cell)
nutrients substances needed for an organism to live and grow
nucleus controls all the cell's activities and is important in cell reproduction (similar to the brain of the cell)
cell membrane a thin layer that surrounds all cells. It allows materials to pass in and out.
life processes things that a living thing must do in order to stay alive and reproduce
cell basic unit of all living things
cytoplasm the jelly-like substance that fills much of the cell
cell wall the tough outer covering of a plant cell that gives it a rigid shape
chloroplast food making occurs in this cell structure - it is only in plant cells
