primary source can be used directly or used to generate electricity
secondary source must be generated from a primary energy source
wave uses the energy of waves in the sea
wind uses the energy of moving air
hydroelectric uses the energy from water in lakes high up in the mountains
nuclear uses energy released from uranium or plutonium
thermal any kind of power station where steam drives a turbine
biofuel a fuel made from harvested crops or from plant or animal waste
solar uses energy (light and/or infra-red) from the Sun
geothermal uses thermal energy from rocks to generate electricity
tidal uses energy from the tides in the sea / ocean to generate electricity
