Ecology is the study of the relationships between organisms And their physical environments.
Ecosystem is a limited area in which living and Non-living things interact.
Abiotic environment is the non-living parts of an ecosystem.
Biotic community is all the living organisms in an ecosystem.
Habitat is the place where an organism lives.
Niche is the role or function of an organism in its environments.
Water cycle is a continuous movement of water from the atmosphere to the earth and back to the atmosphere.
Evaporation is the movement of water into the atmosphere by changing from a liquid into a vapor.
Succession is a predictable series of changes that occur in biotic communities as they progress toward a climax community.
Precipitation the movement of water from the atmosphere to the ground.
Water table is a reservoir of water beneath the surface of the earth.
Population is all the members of one kind of organism living in a particular ecosystem.
Producer organism is an organism that manufactures its own food.
Consumer organism is an organism that uses food manufactured by other organisms.
Carbon cycle the exchange of carbon between organism carrying on photosynthesis and those carrying on cellular respiration, functions in relationship with the oxygen cycle
Oxygen cycle is the exchange of oxygen between organism carrying on photosynthesis and those carrying on cellular respiration, functions in relationship with the carbon cycle.
Nitrogen cycle is the process by which nitrogen moves, in various compounds, through biotic and abiotic communities as it is used and reused.
Rhythm is a cyclic change that occurs in an ecosystem.
Circadian rhythm a regular fluctuation in a living organism that repeats on a 24- hour cycle.
Nocturnal is active at night.
Diurnal is active during the day.
Seasonal rhythm is a change is change that takes place annually in an ecosystem
Dormant bud is the tissues of a new stem and leaves or flower that are covered by scales during a period when there is no growth.
Hibernation is a dormant state involving a slowing life processes; permits certain animals to survive winter conditions.
