AQA AS PE Decision Making - Information Processing

What's the name of the hypothesis in the response selection stage? Single Channel Hypothesis
How many responses can be processed through the selection stage at one time? One
What is selective attention like for a novice? Poor. They are unable to select relevant from the irrelevant information
Why is an experience performer's decision making quicker? Better selective attention so able to select the correct stimulus to respond to.
What is response time? The time taken from the stimulus being presented to the end of the movement
What is reaction time? Time it takes to make a decision in response to a stimulus
What is movement time? Time taken from the start of the response to the end of the movement
Define simple reaction time The time taken to start a single response to a single stimulus
Define choice reaction time The time taken between the stimulus and the action which requires a response
What is an example of choice reaction time Triple threat in basketball, defender in hockey, striker in football
