ratio The ratio of x to y (y ≠ 0) is x/y and is sometimes written x:y
proportion An equation stating that two rations are equal.
means-extremes property of proportions The product of the means equals the product of the extremes.
means The middle terms of a proportion
extremes The first and last terms of a proportion
similar Two polygons are similar if their vertices can be paired so that corresponding angles are congruent and corresponding sides are in proportion
scale factor For similar polygons, the ratio of the lengths of two corresponding sides
