cell cycle and mitosis

Interphase cell grows to full size and a copy of DNA is made
Mitosis DNA splits so copy can be given to the new cells
Cytokinesis cell splits creating two new cells
Prophase DNA transforms to rod like structures called chromosomes
Metaphase chromosomes line up in center of cell and spindles of fiber attach to each chromosome
Anaphase chromosomes are pulled apart into two chromatids and spindle fibers pull chromatids to opposite ends of cell
Telophase nucleus surrounds chromatids that lose their rod like shape
