cell cycle and mitosis
Question | Answer |
---|---|
Interphase | cell grows to full size and a copy of DNA is made |
Mitosis | DNA splits so copy can be given to the new cells |
Cytokinesis | cell splits creating two new cells |
Prophase | DNA transforms to rod like structures called chromosomes |
Metaphase | chromosomes line up in center of cell and spindles of fiber attach to each chromosome |
Anaphase | chromosomes are pulled apart into two chromatids and spindle fibers pull chromatids to opposite ends of cell |
Telophase | nucleus surrounds chromatids that lose their rod like shape |
