4. In the poem, before Casey gets to bat, the first two batters got out. How is this a clue to what will happen at the end of the poem? Mudville only has one chance to win because they already have 2 outs.
How many strikes does the umpire call on Casey? Two, we never hear the umpire say "Strike three" we just know Casey lost.
What is the main idea of the second stanza? The crowd was hopeful that Mudville would win with Casey at the bat.
What is the highest point of the poem? When Casey swings at the third pitch.
What is the anticlimax of the poem? Mighty Casey has struck out.
Casey and the Pitcher are in a duel. This is important to the story because... It is the main conflict in "Casey at the Bat"
